An APAC Communications Advisory
Jacqui Smith has two decades’ experience in communications. After honing her craft as a journalist, she has spent the past 14 years as a PR, working with businesses and government organisations spanning primary industries, tourism, tech and finance. Jacqui’s work has taken her in-house for governments and corporates, but she always finds herself tracking back to the fast-paced unpredictability of agency and consulting.
Major change has been the constant in Jacqui’s communications career. She entered journalism in New Zealand just as papers were figuring out what it meant to have an online presence. She moved into advertising and then PR just as brands took on a mobile and social-media-first approach. Now she teaches workshops that help companies train their AI tools to work as an in-house communications function.
After spending the majority of her career working across Southeast Asia and North America, Jacqui and her family have now settled by the beach near Sydney, Australia. Through JS Consulting, Jacqui takes on select clients who are looking to build and enhance their reputation in APAC, while navigating and embracing that ever-constant variable, change.
